Genre: Fantasy and Science Fiction
Let’s find out a little more about Georgina:

1. Why did you initially decide to write a book?
I have been thinking about stories for as long as I can remember. I think it just got to the point where I needed to write them down to stop them going around and around in my head.
2. What genres do you enjoy reading?
Fantasy and science fiction. I have always read widely, but they are my favourites. I love the idea of escaping to a very different world and both fantasy and science fiction allow me to do that.
3. What do you love most about being an author?
Being able to disappear into a story – I find writing just as enjoyable as reading. That is partly because I am a discovery writer (or pantser) and so I have no idea what is going to happen until it unfolds across the page before me.
4. What is currently on your TO BE READ pile?
How long have you got? I have several piles on either side of the bed, including titles friends have leant me, some series I’m working through – such as the Death Note series. And then there is the Kindle…so many books.
The absolute next books I have to read are The Universe is a Small Place by RJ Amos and the next instalment of Pitch and Sickle by DK Girl.
5. What drew you to the subject of your latest novel?
My latest is the final episode of a medieval fantasy set around witches and lost family. I started with the idea of a middle aged protagonist, a woman who had spent most of her life in hiding after being wrongly accused of a devastating event. The story grew from there.
Most of my stories involve some form of magic and found family.
6. Where is your novel set? (If you write fantasy, how would you best describe the world of your latest novel)?
My latest series is set in a medieval style world, mostly in a large castle and the forest surrounding it. Solid grey stone walls, high ceilings, bare furnishings, lush gardens, echoing hallways, small sitting rooms and cozy fires.
I usually include a multiple god religion – this one has a male god, with an expansive place of worship and giant statues, and a goddess with smaller spaces of worship with her dancing figure painted on the walls.
7. What’s the most interesting book you’ve read in the last year – and why?
I haven’t read that many books in the last year…I enjoyed those I read, but none really popped out as the most interesting.
8. What authors do you love to follow?
Lindsay Buroker is my all time favourite author – both her fantasy and science fiction, she has an amazing voice and her characters are so detailed.
I usually read more from indie authors than traditionally published.
9. Do you prefer paperbacks, hardbacks or ebooks, as a reader – and why?
I love the feel of a book, and the smell of the paper – but I have terrible eyesight and love the ereader – I can make the font bigger or smaller and so it is easier on the eyes and I can read for longer periods. Also an ereader is a lot lighter when it comes to epic fantasy!
10. What else would you like your readers to know about you or your books?
Only that I have just as much fun writing them as I do reading, and I hope that they strike an emotional chord with the reader in some way.
